About 2 years and 2 months since buying the Cayman, I’ve finally seen my engine! Really weird sitting in the passenger seat well to remove bolts over the engine cover and work on the front. And damn is it packed in there!

You doing a service yourself, or? :)
This is why I like rear-engined cars rather than mid-engined....easier access :P

Let’s say or.... lol
And that may be true but I have a frunk AND a trunk!

That hose in the center looks like it’s gonna rub right thru, given enough time.
This might be one time when the “no user-serviceable parts inside” label doesn’t lie.

That’s just a lack of dust because it's up against the cover. I didn't see any actual wear but I'll keep an eye on it

The last few 911's I saw looked like it was harder to access the engine than my Boxster.

I have to think a lot of services are engine out affairs? This seems like a non-user friendly car to wrench on.

Surprisingly less than you'd think. You can access the front from behind the seats and a bunch of it from below.

I hope someone makes a clear engine cover for your gen Cay man too. T hey look nice and let you see the engine more often!

They do! But I've often backed off on the premise that I'd have to keep it clean lol

That’s good to know.
